Reflection on the 250th
This weekend the United States will celebrate 250 years of existence. The 4th of July – and particularly this day in history- holds complexity for many of us. On Monday night, UUC joined our diverse multi-faith Stamford community in a gathering to mark the occasion. Faith leaders from many traditions, along with a young immigrant student, offered reflections on our nation’s foundational texts from the perspective of our traditions. We spoke words that held heartbreak and lament, as well as hope and commitment to build a better future. We sang and shared reflections from our hearts with the people around us. I share my words here with all of you.
