Message from the Board of Trustees
Dear Congregants,
The Board had our second meeting on 9/15, and full notes have been posted in the Community Room for anyone to view. If you take a look at them, you’ll find we have a lot of proverbial irons in the fire as we work to reflect and address concerns brought up by the various committees that also serve our Congregation.
If you’re looking to get involved and missed the Find Your Ministry Fair this past Sunday on 9/28, most committees are still accepting new members! Please reach out if you’re having trouble finding the right person to contact and I’m happy to help make the connection.
Members of the Board will be also available for Q&A’s before services at 9:30am on the following Sundays: 10/5, 11/2, 11/9 with more to be added! Our inboxes also remain open for those who prefer that form of communication.
The Board took E-votes between our August and September meeting for for following:
8/23 – E-vote approved employment offer to the Administrator
8/23 – E-vote to approve Minister’s contract at 75% time and 10% retirement plan
9/1 – E-vote approved spending up to $3,255.00 towards resolving the issue of the flat roof at the RE & A Building
9/1 – E-vote approved seeking fire inspection
9/2 – E-vote approved Stamford Chorale rental contract for $100/event to use the sanctuary and $50/event to use the community room
9/4 – No E-vote quorum on childcare, ongoing effort
We also were able to vote in-person at our meeting to approve a proposal for UUC to co-sponsor a fundraising event for the Interfaith Council’s Mutual Aid for immigrant families by contributing use of space at no cost for a November concert
Our next meeting will be 10/20 at 7pm over Zoom.
Sincerely,
Sarah Prosser – UUC Stamford Board Clerk
