Message from the Board of Trustees

Dear Congregants,

The board met this past Monday on 5/18 in the Sanctuary. Hard copies and the digital copy of this month’s notes will be made available on 5/31 (previous month’s notes are here). As this fiscal year draws to a close and the Annual Meeting is coming up in June, an official announcement will go out to all members separate from this email, but given its closeness it was a major topic for the Board this month to make sure our proverbial ducks were in order. For those who follow these missives, expect to see more e-votes in next month’s e-blast as well!

We had another busy month between meetings with e-voting and discussions, the following e-votes were entered into the record this month:

4/29 – Fundraising Bake Sale on 5/30 (5  yes, 2 abstain)
4/29 – Jane’s Walk EHF approval (5 yes, 2 abstain)
5/7 – Go-Daddy Product Subscription Expirations/Renewals — approved (6 yes, 1 abstain)

And we did have some in-person votes to share out as well:

– Adding a guest Wifi network to begin in July 2026
– approved the language for a by-law amendment proposal to go before the Congregation for a vote during the Annual Meeting which applies to succession, keeping the Board in compliance with the by-laws, and helping ensure smoother financial information transfer: in layman’s terms, switching the years that the Clerk (even to odd years) and the Treasurer (odd to even years) roll off the board.

The First Sunday Q&A for June was pushed back to 5/31 to accommodate the joint Pride service with First Congregational Church. The Board will be available for general questions before services on 5/31 at 9:30am.

All of the Board’s inboxes remain open for communication, and our next Board Meeting will be on 6/15 over Zoom at 7pm.

Yours in service from the keyboard,
Sarah Prosser – UUC Stamford Board of Trustees Clerk
