Led by Michael Gorski

In this St. Francis Day service, Michael Gorski will introduce his dog, Maisy, to the congregation and reflect on how she has changed his understanding of empathy. Drawing on his efforts to communicate with Maisy and on the roughly 20,000-year relationship between people and dogs, Michael will ask whether what we learn from trying to understand another species can help us approach the human differences that sometimes divide us.
Maisy will be present for a portion of the service. Anyone with a fear or particular concern about dogs is encouraged to contact Michael in advance so that the service can be modified as needed to help everyone feel comfortable and safe.
