Conversations with an End of Life Doula

Led by Susan Stout

We consume the news, we celebrate Halloween, we witness the seasons’ change and we gently say good-by to our beloved animal companions. We witness life and death, big and small, every day. Yet most of us push off the self-acknowledgement that we are part of this same cycle. “I get it,” says End of Life Doula Susan Stout. “We don’t have the conversations that normalize death and dying anymore, unless it is in reference to someone or something else.” But they are two sides of the same coin- both sacred and inevitable. Thinking about it might just enhance life now.  So, let’s talk about it. This service is sponsored by the UUC Care Team.

Before the Service:
Tai Chi/ Qi Gong takes place every Sunday from 9:15-9:45 AM.
Following the Service:
After the service, Ms. Stout will host an opportunity to take a deeper dive into how we think, speak, and act about end of life times. After a light refreshment, return to the Sanctuary and be ready to dig a little deeper into end of life conversations. All are welcome.
