After a time of much-needed respite, I will return to UUC on Monday, December 1st to begin a sacred season in spiritual community together. This time of darkening days and longer nights invites us to quiet centering. It is a time of choosing slowness, rather than the holiday rush. It is a time of choosing joy, rather than consumerism. It is a time of choosing life-giving connection over the systems that create inequity and illness in our society and our lives. It is a time of choosing hope: that faithfully grounded contemplative witness to the Holy always present and ever-arising among us.
Come, dear ones, join me in faithful witness on Monday, December 1st, 12-1 PM as we continue our Moral Mondays witness for immigrant justice with faith leaders and impacted communities in front of the courthouse. Come join me for a cup of tea or a moment of reflection or a sharing of your life on Monday, December 1st or Tuesday, December 2nd. I’m currently available in person 1:30-5:30 PM those days; set up an appointment on Calendly to reserve the time as it can fill up with meetings. All are welcome to join me and other creative collaborators for the monthly drop-in Worship Reflection and Creativity Circle on Monday, December 1, 6-7:15 PM in our Sanctuary. And all are welcome to lunch in the community room on Tuesday, December 2, 12:30-1:30 PM for sharing time and a meal together, and conversation about interests, current events, hobbies, etc.
I extend a special invitation to our newcomers to these events and to meet with me individually if you are interested in Membership. The best way to learn about Unitarian Universalism is to live it – and all of our circles include reflections on our UU faith and values. Some (such as the first Sunday circles) also include reflection on UU History and Theology.
Private appointments can be made via my calendly. I can meet by phone or Zoom on other days of the week.
