Sunday, October 22nd, 2:00 – 4:00 PM: PoemAlley Event – Dramatic Monologues and Persona Poems with Richard Duffee – Richard will discuss how Dramatic Monologues came to be called “Persona Poems” in the United States. This shift was formulated in aesthetic theory by Modernists after WW I in response to the irrevocable world shift that occurred as a consequence of The Great War. Join us for this rare opportunity to hear Richard’s in-depth scholarly lecture with accompanying detailed handout and light refreshments provided. All are welcome to attend. Richard holds multiple degrees in philosophy, law and psychology and is the author of the poetry book The Slow News of Need.
